23/365 Jeni
I am thankful for my cousin Jeni.
"My
dear cousin's battle with breast cancer ended early this morning. In one
of the last real conversations I had with Jeni she started to talk
about her children, how hard it was to watch them grieving knowing that
her declining health was the cause of their grief. "I want to fix it,
she said, the words catching a little in her throat, her eyes filling
with tears, "but it's because I'm dying that
they are sad and I can't do anything about that." She was quiet for
just a moment before wiping the tears, and saying, "But it has been a
good week otherwise, my meds are getting regulated so that I can keep
some food down and I am sleeping better..." I just stared at her and
then asked, "How can you be like this? How are you able to find the good
in every situation, to stay so positive with all you are facing?" She
answered, "What choice do I have? Sometimes I wake up and I remember,
and I want to scream, but I don't have the energy, so I think about the
blessings."
May I learn to bear the unbearable with the grace of Jeni. May we eventually find a way to accept the giant hole she left in our family, or maybe even somehow see the beauty there, as she would have."
Written by my sister Sarah. She is good at the words when they fail me. We will miss you Jeni.

20/365 • I am so happy this girl is in my life. Olivia has a knack for making me feel special no matter what. She spoils me with unconditional love and friendship. She is a safe harbor and the best cheerleader ever. I would not trade her for the world. I am so glad she is in my life. #livandmimimimoments

10/365 Good parents are awesome
-->
I want to tell you how grateful I am for good parents. I
myself have great parents. They are some of my best teachers and I am grateful
for them. This post is not just about them. I am talking about people in
general who step up to be good parents.
Thank you parents who take time to listen to their kids. Parents who sing to their children at night
and read them stories. Thanks for bathing your children and taking care of them
when they are sick. I appreciate you putting them in school and teaching them
by example. Thanks for holding your
child’s hand while crossing the street and helping them celebrate birthdays.
Thanks for working hard to make sure they are fed and have enough sleep.
Thanks for being patient Parents. You make the world a better place, one kid at a time.
Sincerely, Mimi

Day 8: Snow Blankets and warm Blankies
I am grateful for the snow Utah is getting. I am also grateful for the blankie I wrap in when I am working from home during snow storms.
Also, I am grateful my husband is picking up the kids today so I don't have to leave the warmth. Thanks Mr. Rogers.

3: Doing what I love
Gratitude day 3:
I am super happy that regardless what I am doing, there is usually a silver lining. Value exchange is important. If the value exchange is not there, then don't do it! The trick is to be aware of what you personally think value looks like.
Sometimes it is evident.
Example 1: My job can be stressful. < They pay me money to do my job. I get to draw pictures and design stuff.
Sometimes I get to fish for it.
Example 2: Changing a tire in the snow is not fun. It is cold and my fingers hurt. < I am honing my sweet survival skills and I'll teach my kids know how to do this so they are never stranded.
Sometimes there is no value exchange. Don't do it!
Example 3: I want to light my hair on fire because everyone is driving me batty. = I have no hair, and now I have burn scars. I apparently was already batty before I interacted with people.
There is usually more then one value exchange is every situation. The more you find, the higher quality of life... and the more adults points you get!
It feels like a Tuesday < but really it's Friday.
Love, Mimi

2: Doctors Rock!
Gratitude 2: Doctors Rock!
This morning I woke up to my little girl having an ear ache. After taking a visit to the doctor, we now know she has an ear infection and strep throat. It is odd how happy kids are even when they are terribly sick. I am so happy that we have healthcare!
